oh the places you’ll go!

No shortage of ego here. I adore being asked for advice and love answering questions. Makes me feel important and that I am an ‘expert’.  I’m thrilled when someone wants to go where I’ve been or finds my website inspiring.

But the truth is I don’t always have enough time to plan full trips for others or help with practical things like booking hotels and flights. For perfect results, this requires a team. Luckily, I know people.

I have joined forces with the remarkable crew at North South Travel. Our goal is to make dreams come true. Darcy Hibberd started this agency in 1981 after traveling the world as a flight attendant. She believed she could help others discover the wonders she had experienced. She and her dedicated team have been hard at work ever since. They are uniquely qualified to offer bespoke assistance whether with a hotel suggestion, a romantic long weekend, a daring safari or a grand family reunion.

North South Travel is a member of the invitation-only Virtuoso network of luxury experiences. When your holiday calls for the top end, this Virtuoso affiliation offers the benefit of great rates and special perks. Darcy and her team are equally able to assist with more off-the-beaten-track adventures, the under the radar tiny hotels that I love and less extravagant simple vacations.

How can they do it all? Well, first and foremost they are extremely good listeners who put a huge effort into figuring out exactly what you really want. Of course, they need to make money to stay in business. But they are completely transparent about how they do this. North South uses a hybrid system that allows you to get exactly what works for you. They combine the traditional commission-based model with the more modern flat fee system. Although the office is physically located in Vancouver, we can help everyone anywhere. Everything can be done remotely either via email or over the phone.
