the pool at the Bulgari London

best bed:The Bulgari Hotel London, London, UK

The Bulgari Hotel London Understated elegance defines the Bulgari Hotel London. The design harks back to the company’s jewelry making roots with lots of silver throughout. Carefully coupled with curved walnut walls and dark leather furniture, it never crosses the line into tacky.  Most of the furnishings are crafted exclusively for Bulgari. The joy of a purpose-built-from-the-ground-up hotel is the architects don’t need to compromise. In 2012, Antonio Citterio had carte blanche to create a luxury hotel that combines sleek comfortable design with up-to-date technology and sustainability. And some of the largest rooms in London. Entry level superiors are bigger than suites at many other places.  While the bedroom appears quite minimalist, open the bedside drawer to discover every charging port you need. The desk drawer is stocked with things you never travel with but sometimes need like paper clips, highlighters and a small stapler.  The velvet curtains are based on a Bulgari broach design, the mini bar is hidden in a travel trunk. The bathrooms with black marble, big tubs, rain showers and exclusive Bulgari products are to die for. I took the soaps. The private screening cinema seats 47 but is perfect for two. There are more than 300 movies guests can choose from. Pasta Pomodoro many seem too basic to order, but it is a must have dish at Sette. I’ll wager it is the best version of this dish you’ll ever taste. (Unless your mother used to make it, in which case all bets are off). Even after all the glamour I experienced in the spa and my enormous suite, it is the service I remember most. It was unfailingly kind, friendly and helpful and every single person knew me by name. I was WOWed.

Number of Rooms: 85

Sweet Suite: The Bulgari I…two bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, custom made furniture, huge living/dining room and views over Knightsbridge…it is truly the apartment of your fantasies. Plus it comes with a complete bar that many a restaurant would envy.

Favorite Thing: The incredible Spa. I had heard it was the top in London and my experience would certainly support such praise. I had an amazing facial and could have happily hung out by the pool for hours. 25 meters long created from Vicenza stone & featuring a shimmering green & gold mosaic it is practical for doing laps and beautiful to just to admire. You can have champagne delivered to your day bed.

Near By: Shopping…Harrods is around the corner, Harvey Nichols is down the street. The hotel is located in the heart of Knightsbridge across the street from Hyde Park. I is an easy walk to lots of museums including the V&A and The Science Museum.

Amenities: spa,  47 seat cinema, pool, sauna, steam room, Nespresso machine, mini-bar trunk, butler service in suites, baths in all rooms, Sette Restaurant, Cigar Lounge with rare Havana’s, Nolita Social basement bar with live music
