Pool with a view…located on the 11th floor you can get a cocktail (or light meal) and stare down at the Nile… heaven @kempinskinile ….

The presidential suite at @hyattparismadeleine offers breathtaking views, a huge terrace and the best value of any 5 star suite in Paris. No wonder both Barak Obama and Justin Trudeau are rumored to have stayed here. #luxuryandvalue

I’m obsessed by the contrasts of Egypt. Watched this man fishing on a filthy beach through a chain linked fence in Alexandria for 2 hours while I ate lunch. Kids came by to chat with him, he took a short break to pray, and when he had a bag full of small fish he got up, waved and walked away. #whatawonderfulworld

The beaches along the Mediterranean coast of Egypt are relatively unknown to foreigners but wealthy Egyptian have been coming here for generations to escape Cairo’s summer heat and pollution. The water is crystal clear, the beach’s are the finest while sand and the food amazing. @alalameinhotel is a wonderful stylish hotel for those who don’t have their own villas.

Alexandria is dirty, noisy, falling apart yet also beautiful, friendly & sophisticated. Crossing the street is terrifying; drinking lemonade in a cafe sublime. I had some of the best fish of my life in a local seaside restaurant & a frightening blast in the back of decrepit mini mini bus while searching for folding chairs… it’s a long story! But reminded me it’s always more fun when you travel like and with a local! #lifesanadventure

Abu Simbal is one of my favorite sites in the whole world…and my number one in Egypt….it was built by Rameses II near the Nubian border in honor of his favorite wife Nefertari …Rameses was a master of propaganda, he put his name & image everywhere the fact he was willing to share the glory speaks to how much he loved this woman. The temple was lost for centuries under the sand until 1813 when the Swiss explorer, Johann Ludwig Burckhardt found a small bit poking out of the desert. In 1968 the entire complex was moved 65 meters up and 200 meters back in an incredible feat of engineering. The original site was buried in the lake created by the Aswan Dam.
